Consulting and counseling services

Navigator Advice and Support
Whether you are starting your studies, progressing through your studies or starting your career - Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences supports you in all phases of your studies! There are numerous advisory services on the search for a course of study or on the right way to study, on the compatibility of studies and family, on life in Osnabrück and Lingen, as well as on personal problems and prospects after graduation.
The LearningCenter has developed the Advice and Support Navigator so that you can quickly find the right support for your needs.
Student Success Counseling
Academic success is defined individually: It depends on your own biography and your ideas about your future. In individual or group counseling sessions, the LearningCenter staff will support you in dealing with the goals and challenges of your studies.
Our Student Success Counseling focuses on study-related challenges. In confidential one-to-one meetings, it is important to us as advisors to address your individual situation in a targeted manner. Instead of recommending ready-made approaches, we support you in developing your own solutions.
Conditions:
- A session lasts a maximum of 50 minutes.
- For more complex issues, you can take up to 3 sessions.
- Depending on the topic, group consultations are also possible.
Topics and exemplary questions:
- Self-regulation and lifelong learning: How do I motivate myself to learn? How do I prepare for exams in a structured way? How can I acquire learning content?
- Communication, cooperation and social participation: How does group work succeed? How do I give feedback? How do I prevent conflicts and how do I deal with them when they arise?
- Thinking and acting scientifically and methodically: How do I structure a scientific text? How do I go about researching literature? How do I prepare an effective presentation?
The Student Success Counseling is a supplement to the classes and advisory services offered by the degree programs. If you have subject-specific questions (e.g. about course content or citation conventions), please address your lecturers.
Counseling is available at all faculties of the university and takes place either in person at the respective location or online via Zoom.
If you would like to make an appointment with us, please contact us by e-mail or telephone, tell us your degree program and your current semester, and briefly describe your counseling needs. This information will help us to prepare for the consultation.
