Brief description

In project groups, students work on electrical engineering tasks. The topics can combine subject-specific issues with interdisciplinary themes (such as energy efficiency and sustainability, among others). The tasks are selected so that they can be solved by first-year students with professional support. In addition to practicing independent and self-directed learning, this module also deepens aspects of electrical engineering through practical activities. Moreover, students learn methods of work organization and apply them in their practical activities. By working on the tasks, students gain an in-depth professional insight into the chosen subject area. The project tasks are offered by various instructors. Students also acquire skills related to the documentation and presentation of work results. At the beginning of the course, students can choose from the topics offered.

Recommended prior knowledge

It is advisable to have acquired basic subject-specific competencies before enrolling in the module, which can be obtained, among others, in the mathematics, programming, and electrical engineering modules of the first semester.

Knowledge Broadening

The students can differentiate between various subject areas of electrical engineering and explain their focuses using examples.

Knowledge deepening

The students independently apply the knowledge acquired throughout their studies so far. They are capable of identifying and applying the relevant fundamentals for each specific task.

Knowledge Understanding

The students are able to evaluate solution approaches for the selected task area and choose suitable approaches with justified reasoning.

Communication and Cooperation

The students can present their work results in a clearly structured form.

Academic Self-Conception / Professionalism

The students further develop their professional interests, categorize them, and are capable of contextualizing these in relation to their studies.
