- Special features of the module
The module can be used as a continuation of the module "Student Research Project 1".
- Brief description
The module offers the opportunity to plan and independently carry out a further time-limited research project or to continue the project started in the module "Student research project 1" with a new question and objective. The necessary content-related basics are developed and a suitable methodological approach is applied. Methods for peer feedback and for reflecting on learning and research processes are used to accompany the process. The results are discussed in project-related formats suitable for student research and prepared and presented in a scientific format.

- Recommended prior knowledge
Students have an intrinsic motivation to conduct research in a specific area. They have an overview of researchers and research groups at the university in which their research interests could be realized.
- Knowledge Broadening
Students are able to independently design the content of their limited research project. They use suitable methods of scientific research and are able to identify and formulate research questions. They develop a concept for conducting research and present the findings in relation to the research questions.
- Knowledge deepening
Students can evaluate common approaches in a subject area with regard to their applicability in their limited research project and explain the choice of methods.
- Knowledge Understanding
Students are able to assess the results of the project carried out in a technically sound and comprehensible manner.
- Application and Transfer
Students will be able to apply the methods and techniques of information science relevant to their research project to the research problem under consideration and the research questions to be answered.
- Academic Innovation
Students are able to independently collect research results and interpret them against the background of the research questions and the current state of research.
- Communication and Cooperation
Students can prepare research questions and results for peer reviews and justify them to other interested parties. They are able to develop the basis for decision-making in evaluation situations and to make and document well-founded decisions for the respective research question.
- Academic Self-Conception / Professionalism
Students are able to assess research questions and the selection of suitable methods from different professional perspectives.
