- Politics, policy and polity in a democratic society
- Basics of political ideas and ideologies 
- Overview of basic political concepts such as the state and democracy 
- Basic features of relevant theories in political science
- Basic features of the political system, its levels (multi-level system), actors (parties, associations, administrations) and institutions
- Overview of political fields and areas

Knowledge Broadening

Students learn the basic features of the political system and political thinking with a special focus on the importance of civil society.

Knowledge deepening

Students understand the meaning and the changing meaning of political concepts and can understand and critically reflect on political ideas and ideologies. 

Knowledge Understanding

Students can interpret political statements on the background of ideological and theoretical contexts.

Application and Transfer

Students can argue politically and deal critically with political arguments.

Communication and Cooperation

Students can classify and assess political information, expert opinions, statements and positions and critically evaluate their practical significance.
