Brief description

Familiarizing oneself with a new task and developing a solution in a short period of time can be trained. The analysis of complex interrelationships, the creative development of solutions and the presentation of the results to the client is a planning reality for landscape architects in the context of expert opinions, competitions or planning workshops. In this project, solutions are developed in a workshop atmosphere based on a specific task. In particular, the application of digital working methods in teamwork is to be trained on the basis of the given planning task in order to lay the foundation for successful work during the practical professional project. Depending on the topic of the project, the place of work can also be outside the university in order to create a concentrated work situation in which teamwork and creativity are trained. The course is scheduled for the 4th semester before the internship, but must be taken in all semesters and is offered as a block course by different instructors.

Knowledge Broadening

The students have a broad knowledge about the extent, the essential features and the substantial subject area and they understand the fundamentals of cognitive and research processes.

Knowledge deepening

Students are able to name and apply design methodological approaches.

Knowledge Understanding

The compact examination of a planning task, from analysis to the development of initial planning concepts, shows students how to apply the planning skills they have acquired during their studies.

Application and Transfer

You critically analyze and evaluate subject-related ideas, concepts, information and topics and present complex ideas in a well-structured and coherent form to different groups of people with different objectives. You apply subject-related skills and abilities in familiar and new contexts.

Academic Innovation

The students justify and decide on a planning solution as a team, formulate it as a preliminary design and present the result.

Communication and Cooperation

The students can work both independently and in a team, have self-discipline and motivation and are practiced in self-organization and time management.

Academic Self-Conception / Professionalism

The compact presentation of complex planning ideas is developed and presented in a comparatively short time. The result is confidence in the use of the planning tools, which is an advantage for the subsequent practical project.
