Examples of topics -Process chain in manure technology -Comparative assessment of management strategies for grasslands -Planning and evaluation of a fattening shed with consideration of alternative housing concepts -Value chain in equestrian sport -Effects of body mass development in calves on performance and fitness of the cows -Comparative consideration of feeding recommendations for fattening pigs according to genetic origin and sex -conversion of a dairy farm from conventional to ecological farming -Production controlling in livestock farming - approaches to improving economic efficiency -Strategic orientation of family farms

Teaching and learning outcomes

The ability to identify and analyze practice-relevant questions and problems, and to work them in a goal-oriented manner according to therules of project management methods and scientific working, are outstanding key qualifications and important requirements for professional life. This includes the ability to transfer knowledge as well as the existence of "soft skills". These skills are therefore taught and used in the context of project team work. In teams, students work on concrete questions from professional practice and work together with companies / institutions from the areas of agricultural and food production. - Definition and formulation of the question or problem formulation - Recording and presentation of knowledge and skills - Goal-oriented planning and implementation of the project - Description of the facts, analysis and evaluation of the results obtained and, where appropriate, development and implementation of alternative courses of action - Dealing with conflict situations
