Brief description

While the tasks of project management, construction management and site supervision were characterised by analogue, at best partially digitalised processes in the past, digitalisation is increasingly finding its way into these areas of work today.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a superordinate concept that, starting from the planning stage, must be integrated into the construction process and the operation of buildings in order to be able to unfold its potential.
In addition, a fundamental transformation process from analogue work processes to partially or fully digital and automated processes has been taking place in structural, civil, engineering and landscape engineering for years. Digital technologies, e.g. in the field of 3D control, augmented, virtual and mixed reality, offer innovative potential, the application of which requires both conceptual and software-oriented competences.
The aim of this module is to understand the digital tools, to know possible applications and their limits and to evaluate them for the respective application case.
Students can classify the digital tools in the legal requirements and the social environment of the working world.
