Brief description

Product development and innovation is intended to look at new ideas and inventions in the field of construction technology, as well as their economic implementation, as far as possible up to product maturity, in the field of landscaping/the construction industry. The focus is on inventions with concrete concept developments.

Teaching and learning outcomes

  1. methods of idea generation
  2. identifying areas of innovation in the building industry
  3. development of own ideas for solutions
  4. research of existing and comparable approaches, patent research
  5. detailing through construction, experience comparison, experimental construction, rapid prototyping
  6. intensive presentation by external experts, feedback

Students who have successfully studied this module know the essential connections of idea generation in landscaping and construction and can independently develop solution approaches for open questions.

Students who have successfully studied this module have acquired a comprehensive detailed knowledge in one of the special fields reflecting the "state of the art" through experimental work.
