Submission checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are asked to use the following submission checklist to check the compliance of their submission point by point with the stated guidelines. Contributions may be returned to authors who do not follow the guidelines.
- The contribution is previously unpublished and has not been submitted to any other journal (otherwise, an explanation is attached in "Comments to the Editor").
- The file is in Microsoft Word format.
- The bibliography and list of sources are complete (including URLs).
- The text follows the stylistic and bibliographical guidelines in Guidelines for Authors.
Guidelines for authors
- The first page should contain a meaningful title as well as an abstract in German and English (max. 250 words) and up to 6 key words so that the text can be found quickly in a search.
- The abstract should describe: (1) the topic of the paper, preferably in one sentence, (2) the purpose, thesis, concept, and scope of the paper, (3) a concise overview of the data and literature sources, and (4) conclusion, recommendations, and consequences/implications for practice or research.
- Submission of the text happens first by e-mail as an attachment as a Word document (.doc/.docx) or as an OpenOffice document (.odt).
- Use subheadings, but preferably no more than two levels of outline. For longer articles, numbering the sections is useful.
- An essay should have a maximum of 7,000 words.
- A trend or good practice should be 2,000-3,000 words.
- The text should not contain special text formatting (e.g., tabs, style sheets, etc.).
- Font: Verdana 10 point; title in 12 point.
- Lines: 1.5 lines.
- Typesetting: justified, except abstract: left-justified flatsetting.
- Please emphasize words or passages in italics (not bold or underlined).
- You may use lists with indents ("bullet points") and numbers.
- Pictures, graphics, tables: You may include figures in the text. However, they must be in the public domain (citation of source!), or you must prove your own rights to the illustration.
- For special emphasis in the corporate design of the journal (of e.g. quotations, tables, enumerations, etc.), please place a mark/comment at the appropriate place.
- All sources must be documented with complete bibliographic information - including Internet sources (simple URLs are not sufficient).
- List of sources: only sources that are actually used (i.e. cited) in the text - but not sources that you have only consulted.
- Do not use footnotes or endnotes for source references! (Please use footnotes only for brief explanations of content).
- Instead, use short references in the text (example: Schmidt, 2010, p. 14) and full references (with complete bibliographic information) in the list of sources.
- The citation system is APA (American Psychological Association, 6th ed.). For information and guidance, see www.apastyle.org
