IGEL-AI

Using Artificial Intelligence to Increase Trustworthiness in mobile Networks

The goal of the project is to improve the trustworthiness of future 6th-generation mobile networks. The project is specifically aimed at improving the security of 6G systems. This will be achieved, among other things, through the use of methods from the field of machine learning (ML). The university's general approach is to optimize the project results for practical application and thus enable transfer to the horizontal market. Newly deveopled, largely theoretical technologies for use in 6G mobile networks will be researched and tested, and these will be optimized so that they can initially be deployed in practical demonstrators. The university aims to classify and categorize the solutions created in such a way that scaling and the associated transfer are facilitated, especially for Germany as a business location. The primary goal is to demonstrate the project results in such a way that potential synergies can be clearly presented and even exploited to open up further research areas. Beyond practical application, the university is also dedicated to researching novel security concepts in the field of wireless Physical Layer Security (PLS) and securing network structures using artificial intelligence (AI) methods. Furthermore, the university will support the AI-supported network planning tools with real-world training data, which will be incorporated into the developed solutions and processes by the other project partners.
